successful marriage is the most effective form of social support. it relieves the effects of stress, and leads to better mental and physical health. husbands seem to benefit much more from marriage then wives do.

married women are in better physical and mental health, and are happier than single women, but these effects are nearly twice as great for men. various eplanations have been considered, but the most plau sible is that wives provide more social support than husbands. perhaps men need it more?

they are more eposed to stresses at work, and have worse health and die earlier then women. in addition, when women get married, their way of life is subject to much greater change and this often leads to boring and isolated work in the home for which they are ill-prepared. despite the benefits of marriage women find it stressful and in better shape if they also have jobs, their earnings and status increase their power in the home, and they may also get social support at work.

the game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on friday night. long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium. by seven-thirty the seats were almost filled. the school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. they started to play at about a quarter to eight. everybody stood up, and the people sang. the game was about to start. two teams ran out to the floor. the referee blew his whistle, and the game started. a basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters. there is a rest period between the halves. during the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. from then on, the game was very eciting. first one team made a basket, then the other. the people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win. the ball hit the rim of the basket and seemed to hang there for a moment, and then it fell through the basket. the whistle blew and the game was over. home team won, 70 to 68.

with the impetus of courage and confidence, i had the idea of slipping down. however, difficult to overcome acrophobia, look at a slide and fall from the above figure, my heart began to tangle. finally, courage defeated fear, and i decided to make a fight.

take the elevator up, i was standing at the top of a hill, a heroic spirit. when i chose a place where people were less, a route was drawn up. i made a push of skiing and rushed forward. the snow at the end of the face, the heart is also happy to fly. it is queer, but there is a stumbling block, i won't brake, two will not turn to collision up, this time, i can taste the taste of the snow covered.

more important , learning english is joyful because the inner satisfaction it gives .i felt excited and fulfilled when i figured out the beauty of a word or true intention of the author .two weeks ago ,i was asked to finish an english writing about an emotion .i did not do well in the first two times , although i employed all my energies in it .when my teacher reminded me to pay attention to one word “emotion ”, i leaped to a conclusion that i just narrated an event rather than described an emotion . i finally did an excellent revised manuscript. that improvement in english study made me attain a sense of satisfaction although it was a small step in learning it.

some people may think english study wastes much time and energy and is barely useful .in fact , i am pleased with english study in that it is useful in daily life now and my future career , and most of all , it gives me a inner satisfaction .
